I got a phone call from the blood donation folks this past week requesting that I donate a pint of blood. The reason they called me is that there is a newborn that needs to have surgery this next week and that I was a match for blood type and that I was CMV negative. I had heard that I was CMV negative (CMV-) before when I have given blood, but I wasn’t sure what it meant.
I congratulate John Painter on a successful and winning campaign. I wish him the best as he serves on the city council. I am grateful that after the campaign and election are over, I have respect for him.
I am very happy for Mayor Jackson. I am glad the voters supported her for another term. I think this bodes well for our city. I know that she will continue to do a great job.
