The General Election season is upon us. There is lots of excitement in the air. I have now gone to the early voting location at UCCU twice since it opened and it has been packed both times. The lines spanned the entire width of the credit union's lobby. As I tweeted, if this enthusiasm continues, the election day turnout should be massive.

You will want to watch a new show on the Discovery Channel titled "Jungle Gold". It is a follow on series to their popular show "Gold Rush". My neighbor, George Wright, is one of the main characters in this Reality TV show. There is some footage of Eagle Mountain that was filmed for the show.

I currently am signed up to vote by mail but have concerns. My father lives in Salt Lake County is Republican and loves voting by mail for the convenience. He also thinks it can save money, although I am not sure.
I know when I vote in person I have to show picture ID verifying who I am. By mail I can just send it in. This may allow many to vote by absentee ballot without verifying who they are and lead to voter fraud issues.

If you previously signed up to vote by mail (Republicain Party did a big push over the summer) you may remember how frustrating it was in the primary election. For myself I had to fill out a provisional ballot which required more effort than I was hoping for.
